Pokeno Combing Bingo with cards

If you have ever played Bingo or Loteria, Pokeno is a game similar to those. Pokeno is a combination of the words poker and keno. Poker is a card game that is fairly popular that most people have some concept of. Basically you play with a standard playing deck of cards and make the best hand using your five cards. Keno is another casino game where contestants choose 20 numbers from a card and win money when so many of their numbers are called during a game.

The basic Pokeno game consists of game cards that feature pictures of playing cards. One person takes on the role as dealer and shuffles a regular deck of playing cards. The dealer then flips over cards one a time. When a card is revealed that is on your playing card, place a poker chip on the card. When a player has five in a row vertically or horizontally, then they have won the round and become the next dealer. Winning the game is just when the fun really begins.

Usually when someone hosts a Pokeno game night, guests are asked to bring a small gift for a prize. You can then purchase prizes with the poker chips you've won during the game..

Pokeno is a great game for gatherings since a lot of people can play at once. Have everyone bring one or two small gifts, depending on how long you want to play. Some groups even have a special coverall game at the end of the night with a special prize.

There are commonly two conditions that people play to: until someone has five in a row or until everyone has five in a row. Waiting until everyone has five in a row, whomever has the best poker hand with those cards wins the round and the chips. The winning player becomes the next dealer or caller.

Variations to the standard rules include playing Pokeno Blackjack, 5 card Pokeno, and 4-corner Pokeno. Like Bingo, top off the night of playing Pokeno with a coverall round, where the winner is the first person to place a chip on every game card.

Pokeno makes for a fun game night for a group. It's easy to learn and most will be familiar with at least one of the games that it is based on. Pokeno takes minutes to learn but is hours worth of entertainment.
